When selecting floor tiles, the first thing to pay attention to is the surface of the tiles – you should not use tiles with bright reflective and shiny surfaces – these tiles are very dangerous as they are very slippery and will be more when wet.
When planning to install floor tiles you should first measure the surface carefully taking into account also the grout joints between the tiles. Before using adhesive to install the tiles you should place the tiles on the surface to measure exactly which tiles need to be cut (e.g. near the toilet or pipes or other areas to which standard tiles will not fit).
You may choose any type or size tiles you like, when choosing, take into account that the floor tiles must handle more pressure and should therefore be more durable and thicker than regular wall tiles. As the tiles are not flexible, the surface on which they are laid should be as smooth as possible – usually cement floors are poured to create the perfect surface for installing floor tiles.
Make sure that the floor tiles you choose match the rest of the room as it will be very difficult to make any corrections after the tiles are already installed.
Floor tiles are most commonly used ion bathrooms, toilets, kitchens and also halls or balconies. There are many different types of tiles, some of which are very stylish and fit for even a living room – e.g. those of marble and stone imitation.
